What
is Hazard Communication? |
According to
OSHA, hazard communication continues to be one
of the most frequently cited OSHA violations.
Hazard communication programs, occasionally
referred to as hazcomm programs, rely on
documents such as Material Safety Data Sheets
(MSDS) to effectively communicate chemical hazards to
employees. An essential component of a
successful hazard communication program is
training employees on how to work safety near
chemicals.

What is an MSDS? |
Material Safety
Data Sheets (MSDS) are documents that outline
the safety and hazard information for chemicals.
Regulations require that employers maintain
MSDS's for 30 years after a chemical was last
used in the workplace. MSDS's must be
available to all employees who use chemicals
during work hours and, in case of emergency,
medical personnel must be able to quickly access
the sheets to interpret safety / medical data.

How Can EMC Help
Manage MSDS's? |
 |
Environmental
Management Consulting, Inc. (EMC) has developed
a technology based system for managing your
MSDS's. Managing thousands of paper copies
can prove difficult and space / time consuming.
EMC's MSDS management system is accessed through
any computer in your facilities. This
allows your organization's employees to access
any MSDS quickly and easily from any location

Paper MSDS's are
scanned into digital files and can be quickly

deemed inactive. No more need for stacks
of paper, no more losing copies, no more
flipping through files to find that ONE
